A really entertaining read! Thanks for sharing. And your panoramic photos have kind of an Andrew Wyeth thing going on. It was great to meet you. I was surprised to see a couple of other Prep Jews from later years. My boyfriend said I “broke the stained glass ceiling.” Hope we have another reunion before you’re traveling there by hovercraft.

Carol…that was actually the Bonneville Salt Flats on the border of Utah and Nevada. The salt flats were flooded and the conditions were just prefect with no wind or movement to get that shot! The image is a composite of 12 individual photos that combine to give the depth of light you see in the photo.

Great post, Dave! It was also great meeting you, albeit for such a short time. Sorry we weren’t able to talk more. Thanks for the perspective from the road, and from the “blue highways” on your way out, as one author once referred to the state and county roads. I am sure you’ll find a Point sign before you log too many miles in Wisconsin. I wish I could be there to buy you your first Point. You’ve provided much entertainment in your “Trip Prep” log, and provided food for thought on multiple topics. I was just thinking about the Mormons and the supposedly imminent “rapture” the other day. Where does Joseph Smith, Mormon prophet and polygamist fit, in at the end of the world?
